Want to get to MGM Springfield without the drive? Take the train!

From the south you can take a Hartford Line train from New Haven, Wallingford, Meriden, Berlin, Hartford, Windsor, or Windsor Locks.

Easy connections are also available between the Hartford Line and Metro-North’s New Haven Line, as well as CTDOT’s Shore Line East service, at New Haven Union Station.

Note | Keep in mind that the Hartford Line service also includes all Amtrak trains between New Haven, Hartford and Springfield. The only train that is not part of the Hartford Line service is Amtrak’s Vermonter.


When you arrive in Springfield

Proceed down the stairs.

To the Right
is the exit to Lyman Street. (if you are walking to MGM)

To the Left
is the passageway to the main waiting room, bus terminal, and restrooms.

Now the options . . .

1. You can Walk

Walking between Union Station and MGM takes about 13 minutes. Just walk over to Main Street and turn left (which is south). You can’t miss the casino, which will be on your right.

Note |  the street address listed (1110 Main Street) is the approximate location of the nearest pedestrian entrance to MGM.


2. You can take a local PVTA bus

The current schedule is available on this link to Google Maps

Union Station ⇒ MGM Springfield (Main/Howard stop)

The PVTA operates frequent service between Union Station and MGM’s location on Main Street. The service operates between about 5 am and 10:30 pm daily.

The one-way fare adult is $1.50 or $0.75 if you are over 60 years of age.

3. You can take a Taxi or Rideshare service

The taxi stand at the station is located outside the Lyman Street entrance to the station.

4. You can use the ValleyBike Share service

ValleyBike Share dock at Union Station | August 2018

ValleyBike Share’s dock at Union Station is located near bus berth 15, on the north side of the station complex.

With your bike you can simply drive to the MGM Springfield bike dock, which is located on the MGM property, in Armory Square. The ride should take about 5 minutes.
